Yeah it’s a bit confusing for sure.

Surfing I do find all the paddle sizing confusing as each company has different advice.
Thanks you have answered my question. I now seem to remember SB re measuring their blades and not actually changing the blade size.

Yeah kind of ;-). Another thing to throw into the mix is how the area is measured? Is it the whole blade to where the shaft joins or just where the neck of the paddle finished at the same diameter as the shaft. I do know startboard did change this in the passed.
But anyway… What type of paddler are you? Do you want more power and a slower stroke rate?

I still have a large older version which is 90sq in but I have noticed the new ones are 94 ?? It probably just comes down to personal preference in general sizing. I have noticed a slightly less power using a large BP blade which is 84.5 so slightly smaller than a medium SB. Hope that makes sense

Yeah its a shame. Im sure a Carbon version will be coming. Guess they wanted to test the water regarding sales this year?! Very nice paddle, but the carbon range is a great price point.

But it’s only in pre-preg. So I either have to wait until it is in carbon as well, get a Lima, or use my Ashley maddison credit card
